What does validate destination do?
The Validate Destination option checks whether the configured destination (such as a remote server, cloud storage, or local path) is properly set up and accessible.
When you click “Validate” for a selected destination in JetBackup > Destinations it does following things -
- Tests connectivity to the specified destination (e.g., FTP, S3, Google Drive).
- Verifies authentication credentials (like API keys, usernames, passwords).
- Checks for correct permissions to ensure JetBackup can read/write to the destination folder.
- Ensures destination is ready to store or retrieve backup files.
If you receive a success notification, it means the destination has been successfully validated.
