Why are my backups from JetBackup 2.x not visible or migrated after upgrading to JetBackup 3.1.x?

JetBackup 3.1.x is designed to inherit your backup destination settings from JetBackup 2.x (e.g., SSH, SFTP, Local). However, backups from 2.x might not be visible immediately after upgrading.
To make them appear, follow these steps:

  • Go to JetBackup > Destinations

  • Look for a destination labeled “Legacy Converted”

  • Click “Reindex” to scan and fetch backups from JetBackup 2.x

  • Reindexing will queue a job under JetBackup > Queue. This job processes the conversion of your 2.x backups so that they can be fetched and registered in the new system.

Once Reindexing is Complete:

  • Go to JetBackup > Backups

  • You should now see the converted backups from JetBackup 2.x listed and available for download or extract

⚠️ Note:
Legacy backups from JetBackup 2.x cannot be restored in JetBackup 3.1.x. They are listed for reference only. To restore data, use JetBackup 2.x or recreate new backups using JetBackup 3.x.
